Our purpose is to enrich the lives of young people in underserved communities through wellness education. We started the WOW Project because wellness as a WHOLE isn’t something that is taught in school; especially in low socioeconomic areas. In school, kids only learn about physical wellness, which is PE and sometimes health; but what about Financial Wellness? Learning about financial wellness could be very beneficial to young people during and post high school. Our vision is to provide information and resources to young people about all 8 phases of wellness (Spiritual, Financial, Social, Intellectual, Occupational, Physical, Environmental, Emotional). Young people often say “I wish I was taught more useful information while I was in high school.” Most of the time the information they wish they had learned is either finance or occupation related. We believe that exposing young minds to all the dimensions of wellness make them better equipped as they journey into adulthood.
